Los Angeles is working its grassroots comedy magic of late. On the heels of the successful LA Riot Comedy Festival kickstarter campaign, Comedy Film Nerds' Graham Elwood and Chris Mancini are heading up their own campaign to fund a Los Angeles podcasting festival.
The Los Angeles Podcast Festival (www.lapodfest.com) is set for October 12-14, 2012, in Santa Monica. They're proposing to have a slew of live recordings throughout the weekend along with a few comedy shows. The festival doesn't specify whether it's all comedy or not but the early listed participating shows are mostly comedy. No surprises there. I'm excited to see how the event develops if it secures the necessary startup funds.
