Adam Carolla Breaks Guinness Podcast Download Record

This past week, The Adam Carolla Show achieved the Guinness Record for most podcast downloads ever. Quite an accomplishment for the comedy podcast medium. At the time of the Guinness Record breaking, The Adam Carolla Show had 59,574,843 unique downloads from March 2009 to March 2011. The show breaks the previous record held by the all-time great The Ricky Gervais Podcast. It was only a few weeks ago, that Carolla issued the challenge to his fans and Gervais about breaking the record.

Even for those apt to consider the Guinness Records as a cheap carnival stunt, there's still some merit in achieving some noteriety for podcasts, in general. Bonus points for comedy podcasts continuing to maintain popularity in the media genre.

Carolla appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to make the announcment. Check-out the video below.
